Apertus Group announce membership of Energy Consultant’s Association

Northampton-based procurement and energy brokerage business The Apertus Group have announced that they are joining the Energy Consultant’s Association (ECA) as a founding member, a trade body supporting energy consultants, brokers and intermediaries.  

The association is an independent, not-for-profit and self-regulated trade body, with aims to provide a wide variety of services to the industry, including being a voice for the sector in responses to the Government and other stakeholders, providing education and training, helping businesses to navigate regulation, and facilitating networking and collaboration amongst the sector.  

One of their stated aims is to improve standards by increasing industry self-regulation and by creating a code of conduct for members to adhere to. Members must adhere to the code of conduct and be awarded Approved Consultant status, which the ECA hopes will become a widely recognised mark of trustworthiness within the industry and to consumers. These initiatives align with Apertus’ strong commitment to honesty and openness in the sector, emphasising transparency with their clients during all stages of the procurement process.   

Apertus Group’s Managing Director Grant McKenna commented: “The ECA are a much-needed presence in the energy brokerage sector, and Apertus is so pleased to be a founding member. We’re excited to begin shaping the association’s agenda in conjunction with other members and to develop new standards for the sector, as well as share advice and best practice among like-minded brokers.”  

The ECA’s Interim Chair Chris Shaw commented: “We are glad to have The Apertus Group on board as a Founding Member. Grant and the team’s emphasis on transparency is exactly the kind of thing we are looking to promote within the industry. We look forward to working with them going forward.”
